Description
Martin Ireland returns to the Museum with a new display of works on an aquatic theme. Martin’s colourful paintings represent his long-standing interest in rowing on the Tideway as both an athlete and an artist.
The club colours on blades, oarsman taking the catch, rippling surfaces and the sweep of the stroke are all captured in these evocative works. Other references are from observations taken from the riverbank and various bridges between Putney and Richmond.
