Looking for a safe site to conduct fieldwork?  Interested in River restoration?  Want to visit a working watermill? Or just want a picnic by the Thames and Buscot Lock.  Then call the Community Learning Officer for the National Trust and discuss your requirements, visits from KS1 through to university students can be catered for.

Location details
From Highworth take the B4019. Upon entering Coleshill go past the small triangular green on right hand side and take the next right. From Faringdon take the B4019 to Highworth. Upon entering Coleshill proceed until you reach the green on your right hand side and then turn left.
Description of site
The Buscot and Coleshill Estates are traditional agricultural estates on the western border of Oxfordshire. They are made up of 7,000 acres (3035 hectares) that include villages, eleven let farms, 850 acres of woodland the River Cole and the River Thames.

We can cater for single school groups and whole year groups (200 students) with appropriate support from school and planning.

Seasonal considerations
Risk assessments are made on a daily basis, the River Cole, where field work is conducted, is liable to flooding in the winter months which may affect visits. Water levels may preclude visits to Buscot Lock. The National Trust liase with the Environment Agency.
Special educational facilities including for weather conditions
Large granary available for groups. Changing facilities. Smaller meeting rooms with AVA for small groups such as tertiary and further education groups. Close liason with teachers over weather as all visits are outdoor based. Limited numbers of waterproof macs available. So far no child has dissolved in rain.
