All along its length from the Cotswolds to Teddington, there are leafy spots waiting to be explored. Enjoy a picnic, take a stroll or just relax! Even when you’re moored near shopping Meccas, such as Reading or Kingston, you’re still within easy reach of lovely countryside.
Recommended mooring: Penton Hook Marina, Staines
Set in 80 acres and with 575 berths, Penton Hook is Britain's largest inland marina and situated on one of the loveliest reaches of the River Thames. The site provides first class amenities in sheltered waters and boasts purposes-built pontoons for narrowboats and Dutch barges. Facilities include showers, toilets, and full disabled facilities.
2. Food-lover’s heaven
The River Thames is home to two of the three 3-starred Michelin restaurants in the UK and Ireland. But even if you’re on a more modest budget, there is a great deal of choice with many pubs serving award-winning food. Or why not try a delicious cream tea at a lock cafe?

The critically-acclaimed restaurant, Riverside Brasserie, is open all-year round and is located at Bray Marina. High security, 365 day staffing and fuel at cost, make Bray Marina a compelling and attractive base from which to explore the River Thames (part of the MDL Marinas group).
3. Proximity to London
The non-tidal (rural) River Thames is within easy reach of London. You can access the upper Thames within a day.

Within half an hour reach of central London - between Shepperton and Sunbury locks - Walton Marina’s location make it ideal access to Hampton Court Palace and Runnymede, where King john signed the Magna Carta.
