Art lovers will find plenty to tempt them along the River Thames

Stanley Spencer Gallery, MarlowThe Mill at Sonning, an 18th century converted flour mill, puts on regular theatre performances and jazz concerts in its intimate 215-seated auditorium. Snuggle up with your loved one afterwards at the luxurious French Horn, just over the road from the Mill.

In Cookham, visit the Stanley Spencer Art Gallery - the artist’s work is displayed in the recently refurbished Victorian Methodist Chapel. 

A Victorian body drag used to find dead bodies in the Thames and a 250,000-year-old axe are just some of the items on display at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley in a new exhibition entitled This Inspires Me…. The weird and wonderful exhibition of objects collected over the past 10 years runs until 4 January, 2009.
