Walking Rail Trails
The River Thames provides a great backdrop for the Thames Path. This section has a selection of interesting walks along the Thames Path National Trail including places to eat and places to stay. Some of the walks offer an opportunity to combine with a boat trip to take a more relaxing way back. Information on public transport, where available is also included.
- Wallingford to Days Lock & Dorchester-on-Thames - Total Distance 8.1 miles - can return by boat in the summer. Passes through Benson Marina and Lock and Shillingford. Visit Dorchester Abbey or explore The Wittenham Clumps (ancient Roman Fort).
