Compleat Angler Hotel - Macdonald Hotels
Dating back to the 17th century, the hotel takes its name from Isaak Walton’s world-famous book on angling. Most of the 64 rooms and suites have lovely river views while others are within sight and sound of cascading water over Marlow Weir.
Within easy reach of Heathrow airport, but quietly nestled on the banks of the River Thames, it's the perfect spot for taking to the water – and it even has its own private launches and boats for hire.
A refurbishment has transformed the hotel into a stylish blend of contemporary design, whilst maintaining the original features of the hotel. The centrepiece of the upgrade is the opening of the new Riverside Restaurant, which has stunning views of Marlow weir and the Thames, as well as the redesigned Walton Bar and reception area.
After a long day exploring the delights of the local area, relax in our luxurious four star en-suite accommodation, next to the cascading waters of Marlow Weir. If food is your passion, then you'll be spoilt for choice here; as well as the Lounge and Walton Bar, the Macdonald Compleat Angler has an award winning restaurant, The Riverside Restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Thames. Macdonald Compleat Angler is delighted to bring a unique, new culinary destination to Marlow. Sindhu by Atul Kochhar is the latest venture by the Michelin-starred chef and will offer diners the very best of traditional Indian cuisine in a contemporary manner.
The hotel is an inspired choice to host your next meeting or event, and perfect for fairy tale weddings, too. The hotel’s two executive boardrooms have also received a significant upgrade including the installation of a new, state-of-the-art interactive SMARTboard in the Balmoral meeting room, which also has a private outdoor decked area.
Rated one of the top hotels in England with four coveted AA red stars, Macdonald Compleat Angler is also part of The Macdonald Hotels’ Signature Collection. Macdonald Hotels & Resorts recently celebrated being named AA Hotel Group of the Year 2013/14.
The hotel has private launches for hire with private skippers available from April to October.
