River Thames Conditions, Closures and Restrictions

This page is provided to help you make the most of boating and cruising along the River Thames.
As well as links to the Environment Agency, we’ve also included a list of the restrictions and links to the relevant events.
You can check the following for the non-tidal River Thames, which is managed by the Environment Agency:
- Current conditions on the River Thames
- River closures, Lock closures and restrictions
- Emergency rendezvous points between Teddington and Lechlade
You can also check current works and closures on the tidal Thames, which is managed by the Port of London Authority.
You should read the navigation bylaws and registration bylaws before you set out.

Sunday 28 April 2019 City of Oxford Bumps: Restriction Notice Iffley Reach - Iffley Lock to Folly Bridge. From 8am to 6pm
Saturday 4 May 2019 Elmbridge Sprint Regatta: Restriction Notice The Desborough Channel and the Surrey side of the D’Oyly Carte Island. From 1pm to 4pm
Monday 6 May 2019 Marlow Spring Regatta: Restriction Notice Marlow reach, Bisham Abbey to Higginson Park, 100 metres upstream of Marlow Bridge. From 8am to 6:30pm
Saturday 18 May 2019 Thames Ditton Regatta: Restriction Notice Teddington reach - Ferry Road, Thames Ditton to the River Mole confluence. From 7am to 8pm
