Family Activity Breaks

A family activity holiday offers a break that everyone can enjoy together. These can be as challenging and fun to suit all the family.  Choose from day activities or longer with accommodation on site or nearby. The River Thames offers a wide range of activities to make your outdoor day out or family holiday, one to remember. Here are two centres that offer some great experiences...

Bisham Abbey Sailing, Marlow, Bucks

• Multi-Activity Week 2019, 29/07/2019 - 02/08/2019   M - F, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Get afloat this summer! An action packed fun week including dinghy sailing, bellboating and a trip down the River Thames on a Dutch barge! The week ends with a challenge packed mini-olympics day. All activities take place from our base at the National Sports Centre and are fully supervised by our team of specialist Instructors. All this for just £45 per day! Suitable for everyone aged 8yrs - 15yrs.
• Summer Fun Days 29/07/2019 - 30/07/2019 and 31/07/2019 - 01/08/2019,  9:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Get afloat this summer! Two action packed days afloat on the River Thames! Activities will vary but may include dinghy sailing, bellboating or a trip on a Dutch barge. All activities take place from our base at the National Sports Centre and are fully supervised by our team of specialist Instructors. Suitable for everyone aged 8yrs - 15yrs.
• Junior & Adult Dinghy Sailing Courses (run in parallel) 4-day courses Tuesday to Friday, weekly. Accommodation is not available on site but there are some great places to stay nearby including The Macdonald Compleat Angler. Four-day junior courses follow the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme and are available from age 8 upwards. Tuition is given with close supervision, in small groups using "Topper" or "Optimist" dinghies. Each participant has their own boat with the aim of becoming an independent sailor. Adult courses are run in parallel with junior courses. This approach allows families to develop their sailing skills together. 

Longridge, Marlow, Bucks, SL7 1RE.  Set in a unique riverside location, Longridge provides a range of exciting water sports and land-based activities aimed at young people and families of all abilities.

• Holiday Activity Days Ages: 8 -14 who are looking to explore some adventurous activities during the school holidays. Four of our adventurous activities and a packed lunch, all for just £40! Drop them off at 8.45am and don’t come back until pick up time at 5pm! We run Holiday Activity Days every day of the School Holidays, including Half Term.

• Residential Holiday Activities. Our Ultimate Sleep-Overs are run throughout the school summer holidays for those aged 10-years – 14-years and cost £148 for two full days of activities, one night’s accommodation and 4 meals. Drop off your child 8.45am on the first day and pick them up on 5pm the following day.

Team Activity Group, Various locations along the Thames

Team Activity Group can organise an activity day for your family along the River Thames; outdoor activities, indoor activities and evening entertainment for small or large family groups.
