The Museum’s Upstairs Galleries plus Art of the Wild: Gertrude Hermes and the Natural World, (extended until 11th October), Wind in the Willows, exclusive Curator Tours, Cafe and Shop – are ALL now OPEN!

BOOK YOUR VISIT: To control the number of people in the Museum and ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, we’ve introduced a new booking system. Advance booking is highly recommended.
- Bookable general admission tickets include access to all galleries including Wind in the Willows, International Rowing Gallery, John Piper Gallery*, River Gallery, Community Gallery and Henley Gallery*, as well as to our current special exhibition ‘Art of the Wild: Gertrude Hermes and the Natural World‘*
- Book your arrival time slot – the window in which you and your party can arrive of up to a maximum of 6 people per household or support bubble (as of 14th September 2020). If you arrive after your arrival time slot, we will do our best to enable you to enter the Museum but cannot guarantee this.
- Entry to a number of our galleries including Wind in the Willows, Gertrude Hermes exhibition and John Piper Gallery will be limited to ensure safe social distancing.
- Please note that some galleries will close for exclusive small group Curator Tours at 2pm on Mondays (John Piper Gallery), 2pm on Thursdays (Henley Gallery) and 2pm on Fridays (Kirkham Gallery – Gertrude Hermes exhibition). Our exclusive Curator Tours need to be booked in advance separately to General Admission (these tickets do not include general gallery access)

Safety First

Situated in picturesque Henley on Thames, and housed in an award-winning building on the banks of the river, the museum explores the River Thames, the international sport of Rowing and the town of Henley. The galleries include interactive displays as well as internationally-significant collections, including the family-friendly ‘Wind in the Willows’ gallery and a permanent display of the work of artist John Piper.
In addition, the Museum hosts a lively programme of temporary and visiting exhibitions, working with partners such as the National Portrait Gallery, the V&A and the Hayward Gallery in London. Working closely with organisations in our area, the Museum a Community Gallery which showcases a wide variety of local projects. Twice shortlisted for Family Friendly Museum of the Year, the Museum is a registered educational charity, and welcomes over 114,000 visitors per year, including 20,000 children and adults who taking part in our fun and inspiring learning and events programme. The Museum has delightful café with a terrace overlooking Mill Meadows, and a shop specialising in children’s books and games, fashion and craft.
Museum admission tickets provide unlimited free-entry for 12 months, so you can pay once and visit as many times as you like – fantastic value for money!
