Day 1: Kemble to Ashton Keynes

The Thames Path Relay started from the Source of the River Thames near Kemble on Friday the 5th of June, when Dame Fiona Reynolds, High Sheriff of Gloucestershire handed the baton to Paul Flynn from Blue Human Project who led us on the first leg to Ashton Keynes. It was a drizzly day, but spirits were high! Also with us were Roz Savage MP, Gloucestershire Ramblers, and river health campaigners.

We found the first flowing water in the river around 20 minutes into the walk, which thrilled the group.

Day 2: Ashton Keynes to Cricklade

Sunny weather to start, followed by showers and drizzle, but our relay championed on regardless! We were joined again by the Ramblers, and also Tony Currivan as we wound our way towards a faster flowing river.

Day 3: Cricklade to Lechlade

This section was led by our volunteer co-ordinator Roger Baker, who led the team under overcast skies towards Lechlade, the first truly navigable part of the River Thames.

The Relay continues daily to 28 June. Check the pdf on this page 👇 to see where you can join us. https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/.../thames-path-30th.../
