Day 7 - Eynsham - Osney
A very wet walk today, with soggy toes all round, and led by the brilliant Des Garrahan from the Ramblers. At the start we were seen off by some of our fabulous volunteers and their cutting gear as they prepared for a day of mowing and strimming the trail (photo 1). We wound our way through the beautiful wildflower meadows of Wytham and past the huge poplar trees in Binsey.
Day 8 - Osney - Abingdon
Today we were sent on our way by Cllr Louise Upton the deputy Lord Mayor of Oxford, who handed the baton across the Pippa of Pipsticks Walks, our leader today. We were also joined by a group of Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council staff who wanted to have a look at some brilliant repair works that have been carried out in Oxford near Grandpont Bridge, as well as some other areas which will also need out attention soon - photo 2.
Day 9 - Abingdon - Day's Lock Dorchester
Our leader today was Sue Heathfield, a Thames Path volunteer, and she had obviously booked in the good weather for us, as it was perfect walking weather! We had a big group joining us today - photo 3 - and what a firnedly bunch they were too! The section today took s past the Culham and Cliftdon locks, and we stopped for a chat with both lock keepers.
