Christmas in Reading 2025: A Festive Wonderland Awaits

Reading is sparkling with festive cheer this December, offering something for everyone along its vibrant streets. The season kicked off with the spectacular Christmas Lights Switch-On, illuminating Broad Street with over 800,000 LED lights and a dazzling display celebrating the town’s rich heritage. If you missed the big switch-on, don’t worry—the magic continues all month long.

Broad Street Christmas Market is the heart of the festivities, running until 2 January. Here, you can browse twinkling stalls brimming with gifts, crafts, and delicious treats—from sizzling bratwurst to gooey toasted marshmallows. Grab a steaming cup of mulled wine and soak up the atmosphere as carol singers and live music fill the air every weekend.
