Get Involved
The first Saturday in June is when we celebrate National Trails Day, which in 2025 is Saturday the 7th. Internationally this is a day to celebrate everything that is amazing about our National Trails. It’s easy to get involved, just visit The Trails - National Trails to find your closest trail and have a read of the ideas below.
Walking
Grab those walking boots! The Thames Path National Trail is 185 miles long, and the only National Trail in Europe to follow a river from its source all the way to the sea! Dogs love the Thames Path too – please keep your furry friend under control at all times to respect other trail users.
Biking
There are certain parts of the Thames Path National Trail open to cyclists too, check out our interactive map for information on where bikes are allowed – once on the map select cycling info from the tools on the left. Trail Information - National Trails
Sustainable Travel
Save on fuel and explore the Thames Path using the bus and rail networks. Great Western Railways, TFL and Walk the Thames are all good places to start looking for ideas.
