The Thames Traditional Boat Festival, one of the most colourful events on the River Thames, takes place on Fawley Meadows in Henley-on-Thames from 18 to 20 July.
Now in its 46th year, The Trad as it’s affectionately known, brings together hundreds of different boats and craft that have graced the River Thames over the last 150 years or so for a long weekend of celebrations and river trips.
The Trad is the largest display of traditional boats in Europe. It always features dozens of boats from the fleet of Dunkirk ‘Little Ships’ which have just returned from marking the 80th anniversary of the evacuation of British soldiers from the beaches at Dunkirk in World War Two.
This is the place for a fun day for all the family, meet the people keeping the traditional skills of boat building alive, and having a trip on the Thames in Alaska, one of the oldest steam boats in England.
Come and see us! We share a stand with the River Thames Society, one of the founders of the Trad and the Thames Path.
