Every bend in the Thames tells a story. This month, as part of our Trail Tales campaign, we're celebrating the personal connections people have with the Thames Path by sharing photographs, memories, favourite moments and inspiring stories from the people who know the Trail best – our walkers, volunteers, staff and supporters.

The Thames Path is far more than a route from source to sea; it's a place where friendships are formed, wildlife encounters are cherished, challenges are overcome, and lifelong memories are made. Throughout the month we'll be showcasing the experiences that make this National Trail so special, highlighting the people behind the path and the unique moments that keep them coming back, season after season. Whether it's a stunning sunrise, a favourite riverside spot, a volunteering success story or a treasured family memory, we invite you to join us as we celebrate the many voices and experiences that make up the story of the Thames Path. Send any contributions to Thames.Path@Oxfordshire.gov.uk

One of our fabulous volunteers Tony Compton took this photo a few years ago on the towpath south of Wallingford near the Oxford Brookes boathouse. Tony says it is a particular favourite of his, as it illustrates the beaty of the river even in wintertime with the bright sunlight and the approaching storm all reflected in the perfectly flat water.

We agree Tony, its a stunning photo!
