Bisham Abbey Sailing and Navigation School is based within Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, located on the banks of the River Thames just outside Marlow in Buckinghamshire.  Established in 1991 it has won awards for both training and customer service.

On offer is a wide range of RYA courses:

• Dinghy sailing for children and adults • Shore-based theory Day Skipper • Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshire and Yachtmaster Ocean • RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship Course (2 days) aimed at the complete novice • Add-on courses such as First Aid, Diesel Engine and Radar plus practical motor boat handling courses • Boat Safety Scheme inspections.

Art Cruises

Cruise the river Thames from Bisham Abbey near Marlow whilst taking part in a relaxing days art tuition, either with experience or not Suzi, our art tutor, will help you develop your skill whilst enjoying vista which can only been seen from the river.

For Families

Make the most of your river this summer by learning to sail at Bisham Abbey near Marlow. Sailing is available from 8 years old following the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme through to Adult learing programmes. Set on the Thames within the beautiful grounds of Bisham Abbey, National Sports Centre which is home to many of the National and Olympic teams. Tuition is given under close supervision in small groups using lightweight Optimist and Topper dinghies during the school summer holidays.

Adult courses are run in parallel with junior courses following the RYA Start Sailing programme. Training is given in either "Toppers", "Lasers" or "Wanderer" dinghies.

This approach allows families to develop their sailing skills together, all following an accredited RYA sailing programme. RYA sailing certificates can then be used in future years, when sailing out of other sailing centres around the world.
