The Thames Traditional Boat Rally in July was relaunched in 2015 as the Traditional Boat Festival to reflect the broader range of attractions aimed at creating an exciting and fun filled weekend for families and traditional boat owners alike. It is a celebration of all that’s best in Boatbuilding and craftsmanship evoking the nostalgia of boating from a bygone era. It’s now bigger and better than ever - 16-18 July 2021.
Royal Swan Upping
The annual Swan Upping event is a colourful event. The Royal Swan Uppers, who wear the scarlet uniform of Her Majesty The Queen, travel in traditional rowing skiffs together with Swan Uppers from the Vintners’ and Dyers’ livery companies over 5 days. Swan Upping takes place on the Thames between Sunbury and Abingdon, between 19 and 23 July 2021 and plays an important role in the conservation of the mute swan. The full week’s schedule will be published during May 2021.

Henley Royal Regatta - As a result of the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Committee of Management of Henley Royal Regatta has reluctantly concluded that the 2021 Regatta cannot now be held from 29 June to 4 July at Henley-on-Thames as originally planned. Henley Royal Regatta is undoubtedly the best-known regatta in the world, held in high regard and with affection by rowers – both active and retired. Founded in 1839, it is famous both as a great sporting event and as a social occasion. People travel from all over the world to attend, either as competitors or as spectators. It is our intention to hold the 2021 Henley Royal Regatta over five days, from Wednesday 11 to Sunday 15 August.
